The Finance Minister in the Modi 3.0 government presented the budget on Tuesday. The Ministry of External Affairs has been given Rs 22 thousand 154 crore. This is about 24% less than the budget of 2023-24.

Last year, Rs 29,121 crore was given to the Ministry of External Affairs. There has been a cut of Rs 6,967 crore in this. In the budget of the Ministry of External Affairs, funds have been allocated for financial assistance to India’s neighbors and countries under ‘Neighbors First Allowance’ and ‘Sagar Mission’.

These include 10 countries including Bhutan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Apart from this, ads have also been proposed for many African, Latin American and Euro-Asian countries. The biggest amount has been given to Bhutan. A package of Rs 2,680 crore has been kept for Bhutan. However, this is about Rs 400 crore less than last year.

There has been an increase in the budget for Sri Lanka and Nepal. The aid to Sri Lanka has been increased more than four times from Rs 60 crore to Rs 245 crore. On the other hand, even after the formation of the pro-China KP Oli government in Nepal, the country has suffered a loss of Rs 650 crore to Rs 700 crore in financial aid.

Indian government will spend 100 crores on Chabahar port
At the same time, the number of shopkeepers visiting Afghanistan, Afghanistan and Myanmar has been reduced. Last year, the scooter received a grant of Rs 770 crore, while this year it has received a grant of Rs 400 crore. It has been said in the budget that Rs 100 crore will be spent for Iran’s Chabahar port.

With this, a total of Rs 4,773 crore will be spent to help the Indian government and other countries. Apart from this, despite the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza since October 7, there is no mention of any other financial aid for Gaza or Palestine in the budget.

The largest fragments in the advertising document
The highest amount in the budget is included in the list of supporters of China. In 2023, an amount of Rs 183 crore to Rs 770 crore was allocated for economic aid. This year it has been increased to Rs 400 crore. Actually, there is tension between the two countries since the government of Mohammad Muizzu, who has a business in ‘India Out’ company, came to power in November last year.

The government had given a shock when Muizzu announced the dismissal of Indian soldiers. All 88 soldiers returned to India in May this year. Apart from this, after PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep on January 4, he had made a comment attacking PM Modi. He said that India cannot compete with anyone in terms of service.

After this controversy, the number of movie goers from India fell drastically. Amidst the tension between the two countries, President Muizzu also terminated the Geographical Map Survey Agreement with India.

After taking Chabahar port on lease, now Rs 100 crore
In the budget, the government has invested Rs 100 crore for Chabahar Port. Actually, on May 13, an agreement was signed between India and Iran. Under this, India took Shahid Beheshti port in Chabahar, Iran on lease for 10 years. Now the entire stock of the port will be with India. India and Iran have been working on Chabahar for two decades.

Biodata wants to expand its business in India. Chabahar Port can play an important role. India can help in direct trade with Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Central Asia and Europe through this port. Iran and India signed an agreement to build Chabahar Port in 2018.

Chabahar is being seen as an ideal port for India as compared to Pakistan’s Gudar Port. After the development of the port, this is the best route for Afghanistan’s cargo transportation. India is also sending goods to Afghanistan from Jenhu through this route. Apart from Afghanistan, this port is also a route for India to Central Asian countries. Gas and oil can also be made available at this port through investment.
