The Israeli PM entered Syrian territory on December 17 during a security tour of the buffer zone seized by Israel after the fall of Bashar al-Assad. Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would remain in the buffer zone on the Syrian border “until another arrangement is found that will ensure Israel’s security.” He made the comments from the summit of Mount Hermon on the Syrian side of the border. Netanyahu’s visit appears to be the first time a sitting Israeli leader is entering Syrian territory. The Israeli prime minister was joined by the defense minister, the IDF chief of staff, the Shin Bet chief and the IDF Northern Command chief. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 Introduction2:32 IDF seizes control of a major dam inside Syria: report3:38 Israel vows to end bombing of Syria ‘in a very short period of time’4:45 “We continue to condemn Israeli attacks and incursions considers unjust” 5:45 UN peacekeepers remove Israeli flags from Golan Heights buffer zone
