Its that time of the year again. People across the country are fully prepared to celebrate this festival. DiwaliOur homes will be illuminated with lamps, the colors of rangoli will add to its beauty and the freshness of flowers will make the atmosphere pleasant. To get you into the festive spirit of Diwali, we’ve taken a look back at some of our favorite Diwali scenes from Bollywood movies. These classic scenes take us to beautifully decorated sets and mouth-watering feasts, perfectly capturing the essence of the Festival of Lights.

1. sometimes happy sometimes sad (December 14, 2001) – Netflix: Film lovers will always remember the famous Diwali scene of Karan Johar’s blockbuster film. Sometimes happy and sometimes sad. Set between Rahul (played by Shahrukh Khan) and his adoptive mother Nandini (played by Jaya Bachchan), this scene is a direct reference to Lord Rama’s return to his kingdom Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It is shown that Nandini Raichand is sensing the arrival of her son on the occasion of Diwali.

3. Who are we to you? (5 August 1994) – Netflix: The film offers a nostalgic trip into the realm of simple and family dramas of the 1980s. The catchy tunes depict the family’s joy during Diwali celebrations, when they discover that Renuka Shahane’s character is pregnant.

4. breakup 3 (5 November 2010) – GeoCinema: breakup 3 It features a memorable and humorous sequence featuring actors like Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Kumal Khemu and Johnny Lever. On the occasion of Diwali, the characters set up stalls to sell firecrackers. Things take a dangerous turn when they unknowingly burst all the firecrackers, causing huge crashes one after the other.

5. Padmavat (January 25, 2018) – Prime Video: a beautiful scene in Padmavat It depicts how people celebrated Diwali in ancient forts. With imaginative decorations and a traditional setting, the film presents a dreamy image of that time.

7. Taare Zameen Par (21 December 2007) – YouTube: Taare Zameen Par There is another film which shows the sad side of Diwali. In the celebration scene, Darsheel Safary’s character Ishaan Awasthi contemplates the horror of being forced to go to a boarding school. Ishaan’s growing worry is overshadowing the happiness others get on Diwali.

8. chain (11 May 1973) – Prime Video: The festival of lights plays an important role in this iconic film. JadeFig It begins with a Diwali scene in which a young Vijay Khanna (Amitabh Bachchan) sees an unknown man killing his parents. In the final scene of the film, Bachchan’s police hero discovers that Teja (Ajit Khan) is his parents’ murderer, which also happens to be on Diwali. After that, he fights and defeats the villain.

9. Swades (17 December 2004) – Netflix: SwadesThe song ‘Pal Pal Hai Bhari’ reminds us of Ramayana as it shows the killing of Ravana by Lord Ram. This special scene happens on the occasion of Diwali. When there is a power cut in the village just after Ravana Dahan, the villagers light lamps and firecrackers.

10. trauma (8 July 1983) – YouTube: soulful number O embrace life! From trauma (1983) starring Sridevi and Kamal Haasan. The song shows the couple celebrating Diwali by bursting crackers and sparklers.
