Ellen DeGeneres has canceled four of her upcoming comedy shows, but the reasons are not yet clear.

Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour is the former TV host’s first major attempt to return to the spotlight since her eponymous talk show was canceled two years ago amid toxic workplace allegations. According to DeGeneres’ Ticketmaster page, tour dates in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago have been canceled.

“Unfortunately, the event organiser has had to cancel your event,” the Ticketmaster update reads.

DeGeneres has not yet made any public statement about why these shows were canceled. Her team has also not provided any information about the sudden cancellation. The Dallas show that was canceled was scheduled for July 10 and the Chicago show was scheduled for August 11. Both these dates were the only shows scheduled for these cities.

DeGeneres had planned to perform two nights each in San Francisco (July 20-21) and Seattle (July 22-23). ​​The second tour dates for those two cities have been canceled.

The show falls short in many areas such as a weak storyline, too many main characters and unpredictable main plot points. At the same time, it manages to keep the audience engaged with excellent acting and an interesting first half.

Mirzapur can be credited for introducing violence, bloodshed and gore to the Indian OTT space. And the third season is definitely taking it a notch higher.

At its core, Mirzapur is a tale of Hindi violence intertwined with the world of Indian politics and law enforcement. It is a snapshot of power games, sex, drugs, death, conflicted relationships and betrayal.

what works

The show begins from where the second season ended. It shows Guddu Bhaiya (Ali Fazal) and Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma) enjoying power after taking over the throne of Mirzapur. Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) is seen mourning the death of his son (Munna, played by Divyendu) after escaping death himself.

The directors – Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer – have made sure to use the locations to make it more realistic. Several scenes have been used to show the changing story, such as the breaking of Kaleen Bhaiya’s statue, which signifies taking control of Mirzapur, and Madhuri (Isha Talwar) coming forward to light her husband Munna’s pyre.

For the last four years, many Mirzapur fans have been waiting for the showdown between Kaleen Bhaiya and Guddu Bhaiya. But it did not happen. Throughout the season, except for the last 15 minutes, it seems like actor Pankaj Tripathi is stepping back from the gangster world and letting the younger generation and the new rivalry take over.

Rasika Dugal once again delivers a strong performance as Beena Tripathi, but her character feels incomplete. She shines in the screen time she is given, whether it is plotting again or her vulnerability as a mother in a few scenes. After a brilliant entry in the second season, Priyanshu Painyuli aka Robin also seems underutilised this time.

The finale doesn’t have any fireworks, leaving one wondering if this is what we were getting ready for. Perhaps the team leaned a little too much into the relentless rhythm, ruining the promise of the world they had created and leaving a few loose ends. And yet, you forgive, because it promises a fun binge-watching experience, best enjoyed with your mates.

Irene Baek of South Korea and Pengyu Xi of China both studied and worked in the province, but moved to South Korea in recent years to care for Baek’s ailing mother.

They stayed there longer than expected because of the pandemic.

A few months before leaving Manitoba, they were granted permanent residence (PR) cards, which they had already applied for — and learned they were expecting Jaden, who was born in South Korea.

“When we applied for our PR cards, we didn’t have Jaden,” Beck said. So, when they received the cards, “he wasn’t even on the application. So now we’re back with our PR cards, but he’s on a visitor status.”

Two-year-old Jaden’s visitor status means he can’t be added as a dependent on his parents’ health insurance.

Beck said this surprised her and Shi, since they knew immigrants on work permits could ensure public health care for their children.

Marcelino said the family’s situation isn’t surprising — but still shocking for immigrant families.

“I see this over and over again, especially for families who come at different times, where the mother or father comes separately from the other children. The wait is unacceptable, and the gaps in health care are also unacceptable,” he said.

“Everyone who comes to Manitoba should have access to public health care.”

A federal spokesperson said each province gets to decide what the minimum requirements are for a person to receive benefits under its health insurance plan.

Global News contacted the Manitoba government for comment but did not receive a response by deadline.

“I want Jaden to call this place his home, too, because we’ve lived here for 13 years, right. For them (to say) ‘Your child’s status here is a visitor,’ it makes me feel like they’re pushing him away and telling him this place isn’t his,” Beck said. “That makes me very sad.”
